WhatsApp account restricted for 24 hours: understanding the rule and using an official connection
An account restriction and the 24 hour service window are two different things. Here is what the official API changes, and what it does not guarantee.

A message like "your WhatsApp account is temporarily restricted for 24 hours" causes real panic in a medical practice fast. WhatsApp can be the main channel for appointments, reminders, and patient questions, so a day without replies can throw the front desk off balance. The first instinct is often to look for a tool that promises to make the problem disappear for good. That promise is not credible. The first step is understanding why the restriction happened.
The 24 hour window is not a block
WhatsApp also uses a separate rule called the 24 hour customer service window. When a patient sends a message, the practice can reply freely for the 24 hours that follow that patient's last message. Once that window closes, the practice can only restart the conversation with an approved message template, unless the patient writes again. This is a normal, everyday rule of the WhatsApp Business Platform, not a sign the account has been suspended.
| Situation | What it means | Correct action |
|---|---|---|
| 24 hour service window | The rule governing replies after a patient's last message | Reply within the window, or use an approved template afterward |
| Temporary account restriction | A limit Meta applies because of a risk, a quality signal, or a possible policy violation | Read the stated reason, stop the behavior involved, and follow the review process |
| Disabled account | Access removed from some or all WhatsApp Business services | Check the Meta Business manager, fix the cause, and appeal if the decision looks wrong |

Why an account can get restricted for 24 hours
Meta can limit access when an account receives a lot of blocks or reports, sends messages without consent, contacts people who did not expect to hear from it, uses approved templates for something other than their intended purpose, or sends unauthorized bulk messages. Number quality and how recipients react both matter. A technically correct connection does not make up for a poor messaging practice.
The particular risk of unofficial WhatsApp tools
Some tools connect by scanning a QR code, keep a WhatsApp Web session open, and automate the browser. They can work for a while, but they do not follow the path the WhatsApp Business Platform was built for. Meta states plainly that a service sending messages at scale without authorization can lose its access. For a practice that depends on its number, saving money on the connection by taking that shortcut creates an unnecessary risk.
“An official API reduces avoidable technical risk. It does not grant permission to ignore consent, message quality, or Meta's rules.”
What an official connection with Forteuno Web changes
Forteuno Web is a Meta Business Partner. We connect WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger through the tools and permissions Meta actually provides, with no bot pretending to be a user inside a browser. The practice keeps a clearly identified Meta asset, permissions are explicit, and messages follow the platform's official mechanisms. This method is more stable and more traceable than an unofficial session.
The Meta partnership does not make an account untouchable and does not guarantee every message gets approved. Meta still decides on policy, quality, templates, and restrictions. Our role is to set up a compliant connection, watch the available signals, and avoid the technical or operational mistakes that cause predictable problems.
The connection method we use
What to do if WhatsApp already shows a 24 hour restriction
Do not try to work around the restriction by switching tools or resending the same messages from another system. Note the exact text of the alert, the time, recent campaigns, and any recent changes. Then check number quality, templates, consent, and reports in the Meta tools available to you. If the restriction seems wrong, use the review process Meta provides.
Patient data and privacy
A medical practice should not turn WhatsApp into an open clinical file. The chatbot only collects the information needed for intake, booking, and handoff. Meta's rules specifically forbid requesting certain sensitive identifiers, and require the business to publish a privacy policy, obtain the necessary permissions, and follow applicable law. Medical exchanges that go beyond administrative scope get handed to a person.

Privacy PolicyAfter the connection, the agent still needs to improve
The official connection protects the infrastructure. It does not automatically make the agent good. A practice's patients use their own vocabulary, ask the same questions in different ways, and sometimes change the subject mid conversation. We review conversations that ran into trouble, then adjust the answers, examples, rules, and handoffs to match the practice's preferences.
That is also why we limit how many practices we support in each city. The team can tell us an answer is too long, a word does not match the practice's tone, or a situation should be escalated earlier. We apply that feedback daily during the pilot phase, and keep going until the approved behavior matches the practice's expectations on the scenarios we agreed on.
Can the system be customized for a specific need?
Yes. Hours, treatments, appointment rules, languages, the questions asked before handoff, reminders, and integrations can all be adapted. An orthodontics practice does not follow the same path as a general practice. We start with whatever costs the most time or lost requests, then add useful features without turning the system into a project nobody can maintain.
Beyond the chatbot
Forteuno Web can also build the practice's website, work on its local search visibility and service pages, then run Meta campaigns to generate qualified requests. We do not promise a guaranteed first position on Google, because nobody controls ranking. We build the pieces that let the practice compete for top positions instead: useful content, fast pages, local structure, proof, Search Console tracking, and ongoing improvement.
Test the official connection, the customization, and the day to day tuning on your real channels.
Pilot PracticeWhat a good setup can actually promise
An official setup can remove the risk created by unauthorized methods, make permissions clearer, and enforce messaging rules predictably. It cannot stop Meta from acting if the practice sends spam, gets too many reports, or breaks a policy. So the honest promise is simple: an official foundation, controlled operation, active monitoring, and quick fixes when the data shows a problem.
